Pocket Clearance

I noticed an irregular obstacle route across the smooth glass tabletop. A neglected stainless steel ballpoint pen and three unused wooden matchsticks formed an awkward cluster near the center. The pocket lacked clean exit angles. I set my stance, gripped the steel barrel with both gloved hands, and levered it across the slick surface. It rolled with a hollow glide before settling flush against the beveled glass edge. Working clockwise, I laid the three red-tipped matchsticks parallel across the clear expanse, establishing five-yard intervals down the lane. Clean pocket. Unobstructed sightline.
