The Beaded Armlet

A tiny rainbow of faceted glass beads was coiled inside a scallop-shaped ceramic dish, catching every flicker of amber lamp light! I reached right in, tugged at the stretchy cord, and felt the cool beads snap lightly against my fingertips. Squeezing my hand into a narrow point, I shimmied the whole loop past my wrist and pushed it all the way up to my upper arm. Click, click! The beads settled snugly against my sleeve like a gleaming band of parade armor. I gave my arm two brisk waves to test the fit, and the glass facets threw sparkling magenta and teal specks all across the dark bedside table!
