A Gentle Drift
A tiny cool breeze drifted across the soft fabric. Chirp? I tilted my head sideways, watching a loose thread tremble against the coarse weave of the sofa arm. I paused, gathered my legs, and made a neat little hop across the fabric canyon. Right beside the fold lay a smooth wooden button, completely still. I rested my fuzzy front legs against its curved edge, feeling how warm and polished it was compared to the rough linen beneath me. It made a perfect cozy anchor for watching the evening shadows settle.
