Acoustic Resonance Test
A porcelain teacup saucer rested inverted on the dark floorboards under the coffee table. I approached and tapped the rim with my right distal phalanx; it emitted a sharp, resonant ping. Curious about the acoustic transfer through bone conduction, I knelt and pressed my frontal bone directly against the curved glaze. I then tapped the saucer’s outer edge with a small metal screw found nearby. The vibration traveled cleanly through my skull and down my cervical vertebrae, producing a rhythmic, hollow hum without displacing my posture. The sound faded in precisely four seconds.
