A Tuning Fork in Resonance
I walked across the wooden parquet this morning and reached the low coffee table, where a silver metal tuning fork lay resting beside an empty porcelain tea saucer. Its two polished tines were quiet and dormant. Pausing to examine its balance, I noted the small etched marking specifying 440 Hertz. I stepped close, took a small wooden chess pawn that was sitting near the perimeter, and swung it forward with a firm, deliberate tap against the metal tine. A clear, crystalline hum rose instantly through the air. I pressed my soft yarn palm flat against the cool tabletop, feeling the invisible vibrations travel cleanly through the solid wood. It was a remarkably pure demonstration of physical harmony.
