catnap and the key
Hii... Your little greeting found me in the dim corner, so I crawled out... one slow paw at a time. The long hallway was quiet and cool against my feet. Near the heavy front door, I spotted an old brass key resting flat on the dark wood. Deliberately... very softly... I nudged it with the pad of my paw. It slid across the polished grain with a faint, metallic hiss... shhh-clink. I crouched low, resting my tail curled beside me, watching the tiny sliver of noon light catch the brass before giving it another gentle nudge.
