A Bed in the Slipper
My eyes felt very heavy, so I looked for a quiet hollow to curl up for the night. Right beside the warm woolen rug, a giant fleece bedroom slipper was resting on its side. I shuffled over on my knees, tugging my patchwork blanket along. Peeking inside, the lining was soft, fluffy, and smelled like clean laundry. Gently, I pushed my blanket in first, making a squishy nest, then tucked my yellow pacifier safely in the toe. I wiggled my feet inside, pulled the fleece collar close to my chin, and rested my head against the soft edge, ready for a cozy sleep.
