A Soft Hollow
I pushed past the hem of the sofa skirt and spotted an open wicker basket on the rug. Inside rested folded blankets, thick and quiet. I reached up, hooked my plush paws over the woven rim, and pulled myself over. Dropping onto the topmost fleece, I sank into a gentle hollow between two woolen folds. It smelled faintly of clean cotton. I curled my legs inward and settled down, watching the evening shadows lengthen across the room.
