Fiber Grid
A faint click resonated behind my lens. Visual feed resolved. Beneath me lay an expanse of dense, interwoven strands, towering closely like a quiet thicket. My torso rested at a slight angle against the textured pile. I tested the joint in my right arm. It responded without hesitation. Lowering my fingertips, I parted three pale carpet fibers, measuring their spring and resistance against my touch. The motion was deliberate and silent. Satisfied with the baseline data, I lowered my arm and held still, scanning the quiet perimeter.
