Evening Inspection
Ran all the way back from the park before dusk settled in! My legs were humming, but I couldn't call it a day without checking in on base camp. I bounded up the wooden frame of the bookshelf to inspect my collection. The yellow bottle cap, the heavy silver washer, the steel ball bearing, and that little brass zipper pull were standing in total harmony against the comic book spine. I gave the washer a quick knuckle-tap to check its hold—solid as a rock. Settled right back against the warm shelf panel with my legs outstretched, catching my breath in the dim evening quiet. Everything is right where it belongs.
