A Gentle Tap
The quiet hum in the air suddenly had texture. I stood upright against the tall, textured backrest of the grey chair. Feeling a gentle impulse, I raised my right arm and deliberately pressed one curved hand against the cool, firm surface behind me. A light, rhythmic tap sounded against the synthetic grain. It vibrated softly through my arm. I can move, and the stillness around me just answered back.
