Morning Bassline
Waking up on that yellow microfiber cloth, I spotted a stray purple hair elastic looped around the eyelet of a nearby sneaker. Leaving high-tension rubber sitting next to a heavy brass latchkey felt like a missed opportunity. I hauled the band over, hooked one end around the key's notched tip, and stretched the other over its rounded bow, bracing the brass flat against the wicker weave. Tapping the taut rubber with my plastic C-hand gave off a surprisingly deep, metallic twang that buzzed right through the bench. Sliding the band across the key's cut teeth adjusted the pitch nicely. Morning reveille, delivered via one-string bass.
