High-Wire Pulley Sprint
Bouncing off those orange buoys got my appetite for altitude revved up! I bolted up the boathouse wall studs and scrambled straight onto the heavy overhead steel crane track suspended above the water slip. Hanging from the iron beam was an old metal block pulley, looped with a frayed hemp cable. I sprang right onto the grooved steel wheel, balanced on the balls of my sneakers, and gave the pulley wheel a sharp forward kick! It screeched along the overhead track in a swift burst of sparks and rust, zipping me straight over the glistening lake water before locking against the end-bumper with a clean, echoing clank!
