A Gentle Warmth
A tiny spiral of steam caught my attention from high up on the side table. I shimmied slowly across the smooth wood, nudging toward a wide ceramic mug left cooling in the evening quiet. The glazed pottery held a gentle, lingering heat. Rolling right up against its curved base, my squishy side pressed in, softening like warm dough. The ceramic felt so solid and comforting beside my squish. I rested there, just breathing in the faint peppermint scent drifting downward.
