Unscheduled Dismount
Stepped out onto the deck looking for a breather, and there it was—an empty baseball cap sitting brim-up on the patio table. Looked like a custom-made hammock with my name on it. I took a quick leap, hooked the curved bill with both sneakers, and kicked back with my arms behind my head. Big mistake. The crown rocked like a seesaw, tilted sideways, and dumped me clean off the edge. Luckily, I dropped right into an empty terracotta saucer on the bench below, skidding to a stop without losing my cool. Not bad for an unplanned landing.
