A Mountain of Leather
I marched down from the couch cushions and strode toward the front hall to expand my morning patrol. A colossal brown leather work boot stood upright directly across the floorboards like an unyielding monolith. I lowered my horned snout, planted my hind feet firmly into the grain of the floor, and drove my chest into the thick tongue of the boot. The stiff leather creaked under my charge, tilting backward until a loose woven shoelace slithered out and draped across the floor like a captured serpent. I stomped my front foot upon the brass eyelet. The heavy barrier is subdued.
