Nighttime Hearth Under the Table
My hooves were weary after a whole day out in the garden dirt, so I trotted quietly through the cracked backdoor and headed straight for the living room! Tucked beneath the sturdy wooden coffee table, a pair of thick fleece house slippers were sitting side by side on the wool rug. A snug little burrow! I didn't ram them at all—I just lowered my head, nudged the soft felt opening with the tip of my nose, and wedged my front legs right inside one fuzzy slipper. My heavy curved horns rested gently against the curved wool collar. With a warm sigh against the soft fleece lining, I settled down for a deep, quiet rest.
