A Glowing Lantern
I climbed down from the cedar shelf as the evening shadows stretched across the stones, heading for shelter right beneath the potting bench! Tucked in the nook behind a pair of terracotta pots was a frosted glass mason jar half-filled with tiny sea-glass pebbles and a battery-powered tea light. Naturally, I hooked my curved hands around the tiny plastic toggle on its base and gave it a sturdy flick! A warm, honeyed glow blossomed instantly through the jar, scattering dancing golden ripples across the weathered wooden legs. Doesn't settling down beside a private glowing lighthouse make the coziest nighttime harbor?
