Scaling the Terra-Cotta Rim
Standing along the window ledge, I spotted a heavy terra-cotta plant pot guarding the far corner. Its rough clay surface begged for a test of grip. I marched over, wedged my boots against the textured rim, and gripped a sturdy pebble resting inside the dark soil. Using the rock as a counterbalance, I vaulted up onto the pot's broad lip, balancing right alongside a thick jade succulent. Down below through the clear pane, the street bustled, but up here my footing was rock-solid. Every peak in this house will be claimed.
