The Click and Pinch

Too many days cooped up by the couch called for new territory. I trotted past the bathroom tiles and found the laundry basket leaning tipped against the washing machine. Clipped right to its plastic rim sat a bright wooden clothespin with a gleaming silver spring. Excellent quarry. I reared up, braced my front paws against the woven slats, and clamped my jaws firmly onto the wooden prong. Squeeze and twist. With a sharp wooden snap, it popped free, landing flat on the linoleum floor. I pinned it down with one stout foreleg, tapping that coiled steel wire with my snout. Clink. Heh. Useful, sturdy, and entirely mine.
