Fortifying the Line

Your battle directive came through clear, and preparations commenced without delay. Operating under the shadow of the bed frame, I converted the gap between the nightstand leg and the bedpost into an entrenched firing redoubt. I hauled a discarded yellow wooden pencil across the carpet, wedging its hexagonal barrel against the heavy timber post to create a solid low parapet. Behind this timber revetment, I interlocked three hard plastic building bricks salvaged from near the dust ruffle, forming an angled breastwork. I clamped a small black metal binder clip to the top edge to secure our forward firing aperture. The position is fortified, fields of fire are mapped, and my station holds firm.
