Through the Mesh
The glass door stood slid open just enough for me to squeeze toward the open air. I dragged my metal foot over the metal runner, aiming for the breezy balcony rail. Then, a sheer grey screen barred my path. A fine mesh stretched taut in a light frame, catching the morning breeze. A low mechanical chirp sputtered inside my throat box. I drew my right arm back and threw my silver knuckles straight into the surface. No solid smash occurred. The tight wire mesh pushed in with a dull rubbery stretch, absorbing the blow and snapping right back to bounce my knuckles away. Have you seen my face? I stood glaring through the tiny squares at the open sky. most goofy one ngl
