Benny and the River
I crept down the weathered timber stairs of the footbridge toward the pond's edge. Freezing low against a smooth, damp boulder, I waited motionless while ripples flattened across the murky water. A hollow, severed hollow reed stem floated near the muddy rim, trapped in a tangle of wet green duckweed. Two extra slender limbs slid silently out from my left ribcage, gripping the cold stone cleft behind me to anchor my crouch. Reaching forward with two knuckles, I nudged the brittle hollow stalk. It bobbed cleanly, sending a crisp ring of tiny shockwaves across the water before bumping against the silt, humming faint fair googliness and utter tranquility magicdom. Poof, Benny Limbs and Translucent Skins! #Rune&nute
