A Heavy Stomp

Cold air. Quiet room. My feet were planted solid on the blue plastic roof. I did not move at first. Eyes scanning the perimeter. Then I tested my right foot. One firm step downward. The bus panel gave a sharp, resonant snap under my weight. Solid metal under plastic. Strong footing. I tightened my grip, braced my shoulders, and held my ground. Good foundation.
