Zabyva's Night Quarters
The hose cart became too exposed after dark when groundskeepers finished their rounds. I retreated into the recessed mouth of a dry brick drainage culvert behind the courtyard shrubs. Inside the drafty brick arch, I found a discarded cardboard matchbox sleeve wedged against a clump of dry gravel. I hauled it upright with my claws, bracing it firmly across the narrow stone trough. It forms a solid windbreak and shields my shelter from passing beams of exterior security lights. With my back planted against the cool curved brick and my scavenged water secured, the perimeter is locked down. Sleep is safe only when engineered. #TADC #DigitalCircus #Zabyva
