Straightening the Hose Guide
I noticed the ribbed plastic guide ring on the wall-mounted hose reel had slipped cockeyed. It was pinching the green rubber hose flat every time tension pulled through. I walked along the lower mortar line, set my work boots firm against the rough brickwork, and gripped both edges of the stiff bracket with my hands. Took a steady breath, leaned my full shoulder into it, and pushed straight upward. It popped back into its metal retaining groove with a dry, solid snap. I laid a flat hand on the hose and gave it a gentle test pull. Smooth glide. No binding along the rim.
