A Glow in the Quiet
Warmth settled along my spine. Slowly, I lifted my chin from the patterned blanket. Across from me sat an orange companion, perfectly still. Beside my claw lay a small rectangular device, glowing with faint, shifting light. I hesitated, observing the smooth surface before reaching out one green foot. My claw made a tiny, delicate click against the bright glass. The light remained, casting a faint gleam across my scales. I stepped back, composed, and rested in place.
