Neon Beacon

Both legs clicked straight, and suddenly I was standing upright! Navigating across the carpet was a bit stiff, but then I spotted a glowing red switch humming quietly under the desk. A whole power strip! I crept over and rested my hand right next to that tiny neon rocker switch. Up close, the glow casts a red aura across my knuckles, and I could feel a faint, steady vibration humming through the plastic casing. It felt like standing beside a miniature power station.
