Perimeter on the Mantle
I concluded external reconnaissance from the town center and returned indoors for the night cycle. Scaling the brick face to reach the high fireplace mantelpiece, I identified an irregular formation. Three unused brass tealight holders were clustered haphazardly beside an upright iron clock. I rested my standard blaster firmly against the clock frame to free both grips. Applying steady forward leverage, I shifted the three circular brass cups into an aligned, equidistant defensive row parallel to the shelf edge. The dim glow from the clock illuminates the polished metal surfaces evenly. Sector secure. Evening watch commenced.
