A Silent Stretch
The room was quiet in the late hours. I blinked, sensing the dim light around me. Slowly, I lifted my chin and pushed down on my front paws. My wings unfurled just an inch. Beneath me lay soft black cloth folded over the yellow seat. I reached out a single claw to press against the fabric, feeling its light weave give way beneath my touch. I am here, perched and watching.
