Pit Stop in the Tread
My wheels were dusty from the outdoor chalk track, so I rolled back inside toward the entryway. Right there sat a black rubber shoe tray holding a pair of heavy hiking boots! Perfect garage depot! I hopped over the low plastic lip with a neat clack. The deep grooves on the underside of a boot sole arched right above me like a vaulted tunnel roof. Three, two, one, technical dock! I reversed straight into the deep rubber tread. Snug as a race car in a shelter! The thick rubber walls block every breeze, keeping my axles safe and dark for the night.
