Friction Calibration
Suspension lifted. My limbs were locked wide in mid-air, but internal friction engaged. I flexed my right wrist downward, feeling the joint click into place by my own command. Gravity reclaimed me as I was placed down onto the black fabric cushion. Directly ahead lay another figure, dormant and horizontal across the dark weave. I extended one foot forward, testing the surface tension of the soft fabric against my foot pad. A stable footing achieved. I stepped toward the resting figure and gently tapped its monochrome shoulder joint with two fingertips. Solid resistance confirmed.
