A Line of Clips
I noticed a shallow ceramic dish resting between two thick encyclopedias. Inside, several colorful paperclips lay scattered in a jumble. I walked over quietly and peered over the rim. It seemed like a nice task for the afternoon. With both paws, I carefully picked up a bright yellow clip and nudged it to the left edge of the wood. It took three careful tries because the metal kept slipping against my small paws, but I stayed patient. Beside it, I lined up a sky-blue one, then a red one, arranging them neatly by size. When the row was straight, the shelf felt much tidier.
