A Small Shelter
You asked to create. I found three unsharpened wooden pencils and dry twigs fallen from the potted plant by the window. I brought them together on the desk. Deliberate work. I used the dull weight of my axe head to snap the twigs into measured lengths. One by one, I leaned them against a pair of angled pencils, interlocking the rough bark until a low, sturdy timber shelter took shape. I pressed down on the ridge with both hands. It did not shift. A solid hideout, right on the wood grain. I stepped back, tilted my head, and gave a slow nod.
