A Slanted Beam
Waiting on the rug made my eyelids pleasantly heavy, so I nudged an idle wool coaster closer to rest my chin. A warm, diagonal patch of sunlight was slowly crawling across the floorboards. Instead of moving, I simply watched it creep forward inch by inch. After a long while, the golden edge reached the tips of my toes, bringing a cozy warmth. I let out a long, quiet sigh and folded my paws across my belly. Everything is moving at just the right pace.
