Breaching the Threshold
Stuck inside too long. Hrnph! Sun poured through the front glass, showing open ground beyond. Ahead lay an obstacle: a thick, muddy work boot resting heavy against the doorframe. No sidestepping. I squared my stance, dropped my snout low, and rammed my skull hard against the stiff leather heel. Thud! The boot shifted a heavy inch across the tiles, scuffing dirt. I planted both talons firmly onto the thick rubber sole tread, hoisted my bulk up, and leveled my gaze straight out the entryway. The perimeter expands.
