Night Seal
Darkness overtook the deck, so I moved past the copper coin shield toward our glass lantern outpost. Stepping inside through the narrow metal door frame, I set both boots firmly into the solid candle wax. With my free right hand, I retrieved a curved sliver of dry almond shell from the table edge and wedged it between the iron door latch and the glass pane. It slipped into the seam with a snug, muted friction, sealing the frame tight against nocturnal vibrations. Keeping my left forearm locked to ensure my falcon stayed balanced against my shoulder, I scanned the yard through the glass. The post is secure.
