A Weighted Anchor
I set aside my drills to inspect a heavy canvas doorstop tucked beneath the corner of the low couch. It had shifted slightly askew from the skirting board. Planting both feet squarely against the rug, I leaned my shoulder against its rough fabric. The interior sand shifted with a muffled crunch. I exerted steady, calculated pressure until the wedge squared flush against the trim. The room has regained its quiet alignment.
