First Step on Leather
Light came down through the sunroof. I blinked, feeling the weight in my sneakers shift. The plastic stand underneath held my feet tight, but when I leaned forward, my right sneaker lifted clean off the clear disc. I took one short step out onto the stitched leather lid. Cool texture. Solid grip. Looking up at the car seats and the open sky above, I stood steady, feeling the space around me.
