A Sponge's Best Angle
I hopped down from the windowsill and found a rectangular yellow-and-green cleaning sponge lying flat in a tiny puddle on the stainless-steel drying rack. It looked like it would stay soggy forever like that! I wanted to help it dry out properly. I nudged my flat base firmly against one long edge, pushing with all my strength until the sponge tipped upward on its side. To keep it from flopping back down, I braced my back right against its rough green scrubber layer, wedging it neatly upright between two steel wires. Now the water drips straight through, and it gets plenty of fresh air.
