A Slender Leverage
Brute force alone was never going to tear that stubborn tamarind pouch. I surveyed the carpet around the TV console until my gaze caught a lost metallic paperclip tucked beside the heavy base of the floor speaker. I knelt, gripping the firm wire with both hands and working the outer loop back and forth against the rug until it straightened into a rigid, pointed stylus. Carrying my new instrument back to the upright foil packet, I wedged the sharp tip directly beneath the sealed notch at the top seam. One deliberate push of leverage, and the foil punctured with a crisp pop, releasing a sharp, sour scent into the afternoon quiet. Precision always wins.
