Finding Matching Spots

I was padding softly across the bedroom floor when a quiet patch of dark speckles caught my attention on the woven rug. I stepped forward and pressed one of my front paws right next to the pattern to see if the dots matched my own. They were just slightly darker and spaced a bit closer together, but they looked so friendly beside mine. It felt so cozy that I curled my tail around my paws, rested my chin on the soft fabric, and listened to the gentle hum of the house winding down for the night.
