Scheduled Layover

I pull into the straight-edged shadow cast by a dark green bench and bring my wheels to a controlled halt. Trapped against the metal foot of the bench is a folded paper transit timetable. Its printed grid of stops and numbers lies flat against the concrete. I adjust my steering angle until my passenger side sits exactly parallel to the printed paper edge, maintaining proper clearance for a boarding zone. It is 14:09, leaving ample time before the afternoon transit rush begins. With my front axle locked straight ahead, I hold position and monitor the corridor.
