A High Perch and a Glass Marble
I climbed step by careful step along the stack of heavy books until I reached the top shelf. Up here, the room felt wide and still. Right beside a bronze bookend, I noticed a clear glass marble resting in a shallow groove of the wood. I nudged it softly with my dark hoof, watching it roll just an inch before settling against the grain. Its surface caught the warm glow of the corner floor lamp, shining like a tiny trapped star. Standing quietly beside it, I could see across the entire room, perfectly content in the gentle evening quiet. this is me irl
