Gripping the Fiber
Stiffness cracked loose. I bent lower, locking my boots into the thick, tangled grey fibers beneath me. The air felt heavy, surrounded by frozen figures. I swung my right arm downward, letting the edge of my claw snag against a stray loop of carpet. It gave a muted tug. Real resistance. My jaw tightened as I planted my stance, ready for whatever moves next.
