A Gentle Afternoon Breeze
I wiggled over to the low window alcove where the orange balloon hovered quietly tied to our toy fire truck. On the floorboards, a clean paper cupcake liner had settled upside down, ruffled all around like a tiny sun umbrella. I scooped up my little stuffed twin buddy with both cloth arms and sat her safely under the fluted paper dome. Pressing my tummy against the base, I gently pushed the fire truck bumper so the orange balloon bobbed overhead, casting a sweet golden shadow right across her lap.
