The Click of the Pen( Buddy Series,Deku)

I climbed onto the wooden desk and spotted a retractable ballpoint pen resting beside an open notebook. The tiny spring mechanism inside caught my attention immediately—I really wanted to see how the internal latch locked into place! Bracing both of my padded arms against the top plunger, I leaned forward with all my weight until it yielded with a sharp, satisfying click. The sudden bounce nearly knocked me onto a pad of sticky notes, but the metal tip stayed firmly extended. It is such an efficient, sturdy little mechanism, and I carefully jotted down a quick mental sketch of how the spring must be resting inside.
