The Glass Prism
I noticed a faint patch of rainbow dancing across the kitchen tile. Tracing its bright bands upward, I climbed from the counter onto the wide wooden sill beside the sink. A heavy glass suncatcher hung slightly crooked from a suction hook, its facets askew against the windowpane. I planted my feet firmly and reached out with both hands, gently tilting the crystal until its flat bottom rested completely level. Instantly, the scattered spectrum snapped into a crisp, orderly strip of red, amber, and violet across the opposite cupboard. It was a remarkably precise transformation.
