A Copper Arc
Morning light cut across the wooden floorboards, sharp and bright. I took the copper wire from my side, holding it up against the slant of the sun. It cast a razor-thin, curved shadow onto the wood grain. I tapped the baseboard twice to test the angle, then planted one end into a narrow floor groove. A steady push—click. It held. The wire arched over my head like an observatory frame, catching tiny golden flecks of dust. A proper celestial archway, ready for alignment.
