A Soft Tangle
I slipped down from the bed and padded softly into the living room. Near the bottom shelf of a low bookcase, I noticed a wicker basket filled with colorful knitted yarn. One strand of bright coral yarn had escaped and trailed across the wooden floorboards. I walked over, pausing to gently touch the twisted wool with my mitten. It was wonderfully squishy. I carefully rolled the loose end into a neat little spiral next to my feet.
